Learn about Volunteer Opportunities at Pegasus!
Volunteers are the heart of Pegasus. Without their dedication, loyalty, and hard work, it would not be possible for us to fulfill our mission. There are many individual reasons why people volunteer with us, but all provide the chance to join a thriving, nurturing community whose goal is to positively impact the lives of as many people with needs as possible.
Pegasus will be holding an orientation for new volunteers that includes clinics on horse leading, sidewalking, and general volunteer responsibilities.
The goal of the sidewalker/horse leader clinic is to ensure everyone working with our horses and students knows and consistently uses the proper techniques. This attention to quality and consistency allows us to run safe programs and maintain the high standards we strive for as a PATH International Premier Accredited Center. We also want to make sure your important role as an assistant to our students is a rewarding one for both of you.
The sidewalker clinic will cover every aspect of the correct sidewalking methodology. We will explore the physical aspects of working with our students, including performing emergency dismounts. The clinic also addresses how sidewalking relates to student behavior and student/volunteer interaction.
The horse leader clinic will be a practical, hands-on workshop in which we will work directly with our horses, address specific problems and standardize the way we approach our horse-leading practices at Pegasus. You will be working with other volunteers under the direction of our staff.
Pegasus offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities. Some require horse experience, but many do not. All we need is your willingness to give of yourself and commit your time.

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities. No horse experience is required, all we require is yourself and a commitment of your time.
Your donations keep our riders in the saddle, provide funds for our programs, and ensure our therapeutic horses stay healthy and content.
